This year we are continuing the series of Open Doors events relating to the industrial heritage of the village with an exhibition commemorating the Parc Slip mining disaster. On 26th August 1892 an explosion at the nearby Parc Slip colliery killed 112 men and boys, most of whom came from the neighbouring villages of Cefn Cribwr, Aberkenfig and Tondu. A footpath and cycle track next to the church leads to the memorial fountain at the Parc Slip Wildlife Trust. Refreshments are available at the church on both days.
For further information about any of these events please send a message to email@example.com
2.00 – 4.00 pm on Wednesdays

All are welcome.
For Remembrance Sunday, 7 November 2015, the group created impressive displays with poppies of various sizes which were handmade including the centres which were moulded out of clay and then painted. The photographs show the members of the group and the Remembrance Day displays.
